The EU fragrance-allergen list is expanding.

Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/1545, published on 26 July 2023, amended the EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. It adds 56 fragrance allergens that must be named individually in the ingredient list when they exceed 0.001% in leave-on products or 0.01% in rinse-off products.

Two dates apply. New products placed on the EU market must reflect the expanded list from 31 July 2026; products already on the market have until 31 July 2028 to sell through or be withdrawn.

Does this make me compliant? +
No — and we won't claim otherwise. Inciwell helps you organize and display the safety information you enter, and it flags EU-listed fragrance allergens in your INCI lists. It does not review your products, check your formulations, or confirm that they meet any regulation. Meeting the EU Cosmetic Products Regulation stays your responsibility, together with your responsible person. If you're unsure, get advice from a qualified professional.
What does the allergen flagging actually do? +
As you enter an ingredient (INCI) list, Inciwell highlights the fragrance allergens on the EU-listed set and shows them as a separate summary. It can insert a plain-language allergy statement for you to review and edit. It reads what you type — it does not calculate concentrations or decide whether an allergen must be declared, which depends on your formulation.
Where is my data stored, and what happens if I uninstall? +
Your safety data is stored in your own store's Shopify metafields, not on Inciwell's servers. It stays with your store if you uninstall the app, and you can export everything as CSV at any time.
Is the Free plan actually usable? +
Yes. The Free plan covers up to 10 products with the full editor, allergen flagging, warnings, and the storefront block. Pro ($14.99/month) adds unlimited products, bulk editing, CSV, and translations when your catalog outgrows Free.
Will it fit my theme? +
The storefront block inherits your theme's fonts and colors, works on light and dark themes, and stays readable down to 320px. You choose the heading, which sections show, and a compact or expanded layout.
